Full caramel calf binding, spine with four raised bands set with gilt crosses and decorated with gilt Romantic typographical motifs, gilt dentelles at head and foot, gilt roulettes on headcaps, joints very lightly rubbed at head, boards framed with a gilt fillet and stamped in blind with rich Romantic decoration, blind and gilt fillets on leading edges, gilt floral friezes framing the endpapers, blue paper endpapers and pastedowns, all edges gilt, Romantic binding signed by Meslant.
