Half red morocco binding with corners, spine very slightly faded with five raised bands, date gilt at foot, marbled paper boards, endpapers and pastedowns of combed paper, top edge gilt.
Precious and beautiful signed autograph inscription from Paul Delair to Coquelin cadet, major figure of late 19th-century theater: "A mon cher Coquelin - absent de l'interprétation, vous ne l'étiez pas de l'oeuvre, à laquelle ont contribué vos conseils, et vous savez que vous ne le serez jamais du coeur de l'auteur." ["To my dear Coquelin - absent from the performance, you were not absent from the work, to which your advice contributed, and you know that you will never be absent from the author's heart."]
