Rare first edition. Half sheep binding in hazelnut, smooth spine browned with small traces of rubbing decorated with gilt fillets, small lacks to headcaps, one joint fragile, spine of first volume partially detached, contemporary binding. Some foxing. The author was one of H. de Balzac's secretaries and was a regular at the Arsenal salon.
