First edition in 12mo, with some parts of the text in first edition featuring text revised by the author, with a new dedication dated June 1839: "A Madame Joséphine Delonnoy". Half-green shagreen binding, spine slightly faded with five smooth raised bands decorated with double gilt fillets, marbled paper boards, corners slightly bumped. Foxing, lacks to the table of contents page (not touching text) which is also soiled. A rightly sought-after edition, like most of Charpentier's first editions.
