First edition. Half dark green cloth binding, smooth spine titled and decorated with gilt fillets. Illustrations by Rouveyre, portrait by Robert Mortier. Contributions by Paul Louis, N. Kostyleff, Claude-Roger Marx, André Spire, Marie Gevers... The 'Mercure de France' was originally a French review, founded in the 17th century under the name 'Mercure Galant', which evolved to become, in the 20th century, a publishing house. Under the impetus of Rémy de Gourmont and Alfred Jarry, a literary review resumed the name 'Mercure de France' in 1890.
