First edition. Literary review founded by Alfred Vallette in 1890 with a group of friends including Jean Moréas, Émile Raynaud, Pierre Arène, Remy de Gourmont, Alfred Jarry, Albert Samain and Charles Cros: the symbolist generation. Mallarmé and Heredia published some unpublished works there. In this issue, contributions by Guillaume Apollinaire, Maurice Boissard, Rémy de Gourmont, among others, and numerous graphological tests of various contemporary authors. This issue is furthermore illustrated with a portrait of Natalie Clifford Barney by Rouveyre.
