Photographic postcard by Aaron Gerschel showing Willy and Polaire, the former having written in black ink the first name of each protagonist in the photograph. On verso: "17-onze-03 Monsieur, Voudrez-vous me faire envoyer un numéro spécimen de la Carte-postale Illustrée ? Salutations distinguées. Willy" ["17-Nov-03 Sir, Would you please send me a specimen copy of the Illustrated Postcard? Distinguished salutations. Willy"] Some minor surface losses to recto.
In 1902, Polaire - friend of the couple formed by Colette and Willy - landed the role of Claudine at the Bouffes-Parisiens. The show was immensely successful and was performed in the United States in 1910 and then in London.
