Second edition, rare, after the original published by the same publisher in 1819. It is illustrated with 2 folding views of Copenhagen and Stockholm, 7 portraits of Christian VII, Queen Mathilde, Gustav III and IV of Charles-Jean, Baron d'Armfeld and Catherine II. Contemporary half hazelnut calf bindings signed Kleinhaus. Spine with false raised bands decorated with black and gilt fillets and tail roulettes. Head of volume 3 partly worn. Upper joint of volume I cracked at head and foot. A small lack at foot of volume 2. "Joined to these Memoirs is the history of the Swedish revolution of 1772, composed by the translator, from authentic and secret documents; and the account of the deposition of Gustav IV Adolphus, written by himself, an unpublished piece".
