Long-grained red half morocco binding, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets showing traces of rubbing, a restored tear at foot, boards with gilt rolled frames, corners slightly bumped, copy slightly trimmed, contemporary binding. Trimmed autograph inscription by the author, only his signature remains. A corner lack on the title page, otherwise handsome interior condition. Engraved bookplate of the Henri Barthélémy library pasted to verso of front board. Rare.
