Third edition illustrated with 10 frontispieces and 4 portraits including 2 at the frontispiece of Marie-Louise, Eugène, Joséphine, Murat. The volumes have been bound with their blue covers bearing the eagle title vignette by Johannot. This cover is found lined in white in the volume of L'histoire populaire de la famille Bonaparte which bears no volume number. The genealogy of the Bonaparte family occupies 3 leaves in this volume. Binding ca 1920 in half green sheep. Smooth spine decorated with 2 mirror tools and a laurel crown. Gilt title. Spines sunned becoming uniformly blonde. Traces of rubbing. Scattered foxing. Good set. Journalist and historian, Horace Raisson, whose full name was Horace-Napoléon Raisson seemed destined to write this history which declares itself objective and simple. Due to its format and type of edition, it was quite popular.
