Complete and unpublished autograph manuscript of 77 pages written and numbered on the recto in black ink.
Paper cover bearing the title, date and place Paris 12 December 1899 - 12 January 1900. Some autograph corrections by the author.
Unpublished comedy in prose; the action takes place in the contemporary period, in Paris and in the forest of Fontainebleau; it features a dramatic author, a charming actress, a provincial journalist...

Original manuscript of this translation of Ringhieri's work (in Tuscan) by Jean Louveau, published in Lyon by Antoine Vollant in 1562. Transcription by Abbé Delaporte.
Elegant manuscript on blue laid paper, in black ink. The epistle to the pastor of Vaugirard in Nantes is dated 1865. Fine, very legible handwriting.
Contemporary half red morocco binding. Spine with raised bands decorated with 5 fleurons. Gilt title. Light rubbing. Good copy.
The transcriber possessed a copy of the 1562 edition; the first had appeared in 1557. Seven dialogues bring Life and Death face to face in an exchange that owes more to Christian stoicism, to a philosophical and humanist meditation rather than to theology, which is largely absent from these dialogues.

Original manuscript (anonymous) of this Latin philosophy course dictated by Father Motet; this manuscript has been enriched with a number of illustrations including a portrait, a frontispiece, and 11 others. The plates illustrate different aspects of logic or philosophy, but we have been unable to determine which work they're taken from. The frontispiece bears the legend “Chez I. F. Cars, 1710. Epitre au cardinal de Berulle, avec son portrait”.
Contemporary speckled calf, spine in compartments richly gilt. Gilt title framed by two roulettes. A good copy.
A good hand, fine and legible, with a relatively spacious layout on the page, recording a course on the various aspects of philosophy (de judicio, logica, etc...).

Authentic original drawing in black ink, signed “Max”.
This work was most likely executed in 1927 during a stay in Douarnenez at the house of his friend, the painter Jean Colle; also present was the latter's son Pierre Colle, who would become Max Jacob's dealer and close friend, before becoming executor of his will and overall heir.
Two tiny tears to half a centimeter of the upper margin, otherwise very well preserved.
Provenance : the personal collection of Philippe Laignel-Lavastine, a close friend of Max Jacob.

Signed autograph letter from a page by Louis Pons, to his friend the art critic Georges Raillard, specialist in the works of Joan Miro and Antoni Tapies, about a work on Monticelli that he recently received from a their mutual friend and for whom Georges Raillard wrote the text.
On the attached envelope which he recomposed in his fanciful and ornithological manner, Louis Pons drew, in black ink, on the front and on the back, two curious beasts: a magpie in a tail coat and a rat of which just the head and the tail emerge from the envelope, the place of its body being crossed by a nail.
Finally, on the sidelines of the handwritten letter, Louis Pons drew a character of human appearance with simian features.
