Autograph letter signed by Jean Dubuffet to the painter Louis Favre, autograph date "Wednesday the 19th", probably 1950s, with a few traces of folds.

An interesting letter from Dubuffet relating to a little-documented episode: his meeting with the painter Louis Favre, probably around 1953, at a pivotal moment when Limbour had just published the first substantial work on Dubuffet's paintings, Tableau bon levain, à vous de cuire la pâte. "My dear Louis Paul Favre,

I wonder whether you have received Limbour's book on my paintings; allow me to offer it to you as a small token of friendship, I shall have it sent to you. I was delighted to make your acquaintance, and that of your friends Nils Tiffeneau and Louis Lemiesle, and hope to see you again. [...]
