Original print by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec created for the performance of Emile Fabre's play entitled "L'argent", premiered on May 5, 1895 at the Théâtre Antoine-Simone Berriau (then called Théâtre des Menus-Plaisirs). First state of the poster, which will be reissued a few years later in a smaller format with white margins. Very rare and beautiful lithograph of the greatest freshness, printed in six colors on wove paper . This work of a rare symbolist intensity subtly suggests the bourgeois satire of Fabre through the silhouettes barely sketched by his two main characters. Embodying the paradigm of the modern poster, the prints of Toulouse-Lautrec enjoy today an immense notoriety and are very sought after.
