Contemporary full red morocco bindings with red morocco doublures with dentelle decoration. Spines with raised bands decorated with compartments, gilt title and volume labels. Gilt fillet border on the covers. Roulette on the leading edges. Red morocco on the pastedowns with a wide dentelle frieze. Gilt edges. Spines slightly faded. A very handsome copy, moreover of beautiful freshness, notwithstanding some offset from the red morocco on the endpapers.
The first volume contains the office, the second had previously appeared under the title: "Tradition des pères de l'église & des auteurs ecclésiastiques touchant la réalité du corps & du sang du Christ dans l'Eucharistie." The collection indeed gathers the writings of the church fathers on the theme of the Eucharist, that is the Holy Sacrament.
