First edition printed in calligraphic script on thick paper, decorated with a title-frontispiece, a plate with coat of arms, engraved titles, several vignettes, headpieces, historiated initials...
Contemporary German full dark green morocco binding. Spine with raised bands, unlettered and decorated. Floral sheaves forming decorative gilt board-edges arranged as frames around the covers. All edges gilt. Gilding much faded. Endpapers renewed in the 19th century, revealing a small window cut in the lining of the upper pastedown, concealing an inscription in gilt letters on red ground: "Am ersten communion tage eralt Juliana Kock dieses gebetbuch zum andeken von ihren vater 1823."
