Pamphlet against Boileau who had ridiculed him in his satires. The work is an examination of Boileau's works. Nicolas Pradon, known as Jacques Pradon (1632-1698) is the author of 8 tragedies. He is more famous for his rivalry with Racine than for the quality of his plays. Racine supposedly said: "The only difference between Pradon and me is that I know how to write." He was part of the Ancients in the Quarrel of the Ancients and Moderns.
