First collected edition, illustrated with 2 frontispieces by Cochin and engraved by Prevost and Choffart. Contemporary full brown marbled calf binding. Smooth spine decorated. Green morocco title labels, red morocco volume labels. Triple gilt fillet frame on covers. Speckled edges. Fine and discreet restorations to joints and covers. The first endpaper of the first volume is pasted down to the marbled paper pastedown, so the bookplate is not visible on this first volume. Very handsome copy, of remarkable freshness. 18th-century armorial bookplate of Lucas de Saint-Ouen, Counselor to the Parliament of Rouen. This edition contains Olivier, Le conte du plaisir, le conte du pélerin, Le lord impromptu et Le diable amoureux. The first edition of Le Diable amoureux dates from 1772. According to the author's epilogue at the end, this version differs from the first.
