Sixth edition. Contemporary pamphlet in printed pink paper wrappers. Rubbing. Memoir addressed to King Louis XVIII in July 1814, during Bonaparte's downfall (whose rise Carnot had assisted), pro-revolutionary, particularly violent and imprecatory regarding the death of Louis XVI. This pamphlet recalls that the revolutionary tone was not dead in 1814 and that the search for an adequate constitution was still current. The letter is followed by various commentaries by Carnot himself.
