New edition expanded with edicts until 1610; in all likelihood, the first appeared in 1599. Contemporary full vellum binding. Smooth spine. Title in black ink partly illegible. The endpapers are detached from the boards. Loose stitching with some sections protruding. One gallery of worms 1 cm long in the right margin affecting one letter p. 169 and three following pages, and p. 69 to 72. Pale dampstain in lower margin on the first leaves. The first edict is that of Charles IX of January 17, 1561 and the last a Declaration by King Louis 13, of May 22, 1610, being 17 edicts, including the Edict of Nantes 1598 given by Henri IV; all concern the wars of religion and their consequences. Pierre Belloys was a counselor to Henri IV.
