Another edition by the same publisher in 3 volumes in-12, with unpublished pieces occupying the entirety of the third volume.
    Contemporary half-glazed cherry red calf binding. Spine with false flat raised bands decorated with a large central blind stamp, with 2 compartments with multiple frames.     Full tawny sheep binding with root-grain pattern. Smooth spine with gilt tooling, fleurons and decorative borders, rubbing notably to headcaps and joints. Fine stylized roll-tooled border. Orange shagreen title-label. Speckled edges. Contemporary binding. Leading edges rubbed, two small lacks at foot of second board. Scattered foxing. Illustrated with two engravings, including a frontispiece and title vignette. Initial letters and tailpieces.
    Our copy is complete with all its pages, but ff. 121 and 123, 125 and 127, 137 and 139, 141 and 143 have been transposed.

    The first collected edition of his poetic works, first in parts (for the third part), with four hors-texte illustrations copper engraved by Frilley, Cousin and Durand after Tony Johannot, Pujol, Devéria and Henri Monnier.
    This copy is enriched with five autograph letters from the author's son Hippolyte from between 1888 and 1891 to Félix Delhasse (1809-1898), a Belgian journalist who was a close friend of the Desbordes-Valmore family.
    Contemporary half purple morocco over marbled paper boards, spine in five compartments richly gilt with compartments and fleurons as well as blindstamped typographic motifs, gilt fillet to covers.
