This dedication is followed by a second one — in English and heavily corrected — by Jean Queval: "To the [?], in friendship. NB. I smoke no more. This is a rather nice book, one on which I worked. There's also Beowulf. There is a university in Limoges. Untest uncheck ! Nan is none too well."
First edition of Cendrars's second book, printed in 150 copies on handmade Hollande paper and offered to subscribers.
According to Sonia Delaunay, Séquences, Pâques à New York and theTranssibérien were published at the author's expense, thanks to a small inheritance. The address given - Éditions Hommes nouveaux - 4, rue de Savoie, was in fact the small attic room that Blaise Cendrars occupied at that time.

Contemporary full marbled brown sheep binding. Raised band spine with ornaments. Red morocco title label, black morocco volume label. Headcap of volume I torn off, damage to that of volume II. A lack at the tail of volume II. Corners very blunted and stripped. Set very rubbed.
