Covers preserved. Upper right corner of the front cover lacking (0.5cm). Light rubbing to boards. Very handsome copy with perfectly fresh uncut paper.

Full brown morocco binding, smooth spine, gilt name of the illustrator at foot of spine, gilt dots on boards decorated with a wide blind-stamped border, border of chocolate brown morocco fillet on marbled paper endpapers and pastedowns, following endpapers of marbled paper, all edges gilt, covers and spine preserved, contemporary unsigned binding but attributable to René Aussourd.
Some foxing to verso of the last black engraving of the suite.

The preserved back presents some gaps and was reassembled on a strip of paper.
