    Rare first edition of this masterpiece of erotic literature, one of 120 numbered copies on pure laid paper, the only deluxe copies.
    This issue, complete with its cardboard box, bears the cover of "Fata Morgana" editions, while the ordinary issue bears the name of Jérôme Martineau editions.
    The covers of the "Fata Morgana" edition are slightly and uniformly sunned without gravity.
    Our copy, N°22, indeed contains, like the first 50 pure laid paper copies, the original engraving by François Lunven which he signed in pencil.

    A small dampstain at head of first endpaper, copy complete with its grey suede dust jacket whose spine is lightly yellowed.
    We include a court summons in the name of Nadine Nimier, issued by bailiff Gustave Karsenti and dated 19 June 1973, as a witness for Bernard Noël's lawyer, prosecuted by the court in criminal proceedings at the 17th chamber on 25 June 1973 for offence against public morals through his work "Le Château de Cène".
    Despite the defence and testimony of Nadine Nimier, Bernard Noël, the author of the work, was condemned on 9 July 1973 to a 3000 franc fine and his publisher, Jérome...
