Contemporary full red long-grain morocco binding. Smooth spine decorated with rocaille tools and small tools. Covers decorated with central panels featuring rich Restoration ornamentation. Complex angular Restoration cornerpieces connected by curved fillets. Wide decorative border. Blue silk endpapers. A black line crossing the title. Lower joint cracked at head for 2 cm but stopping before the headcap. Scratches on the second cover, and 2 black stains. Scraped area on the first cover. The 2 lower corners slightly worn. Traces of rubbing. Very fresh laid paper. Despite some flaws, splendid contemporary binding, bound for a high official. Ge
