Half wine-red shagreen. Spine with raised bands decorated with roulettes and a large central mirrored ornament. Top edge gilt. Spine uniformly lightened. Minor scuffing to tail. Very good copy, particularly fresh. Printed on fine laid paper.
The excerpts are structured around qualities acknowledged as specifically feminine (prudery, modesty, jealousy, beauty, coquetry...).

First edition, one of 100 numbered copies on Holland paper and justifés by the author, only big papers.
Binding to bradel half percaline pine green, smooth back, date and dual tail golden net, as Red shagreen piece with small scratches, rips two head back, marbled paper boards, preserved covers, binding of time signed by Pierson.
