Original ink drawing by Marie-Laure de Noailles, signed “Marie-Laure” within the artwork (appearing twice as a result of folding the paper while the ink was still wet). With an autograph postcard signed to Valentine Hugo, with two inscriptions and some parts of the photograph drawn over.

A few marginal tears restored without loss.

Precious signed autograph presentation inscription from Colette to Valentine Hugo, painter and muse of the Surrealists: "Pour Valentine Hugo, beau nom, beau visage, - l'âme a suivi".
Colette, by then an emancipated woman, recounts her life with Willy. The captions to the photographic reproductions are biting with irony.

Rare complete set of four pamphlets with poems by Georges Hugnet in first edition published during the Occupation, illustrated by Picasso, Joan Miro, and Valentine Hugo. The first titled "Non-vouloir" was limited to only 26 copies; our copy is one of the 20 copies on vergé antique de Montval, following 6 copies on japon. The three others on ordinary paper from a limited edition of 200 copies.

Our copy, as it is stipulated in the justification of the draw, is complete, like all the copies on Japan, of the original sketch of Valentine Hugo which she signed.

The dedicatee has cracked a new autograph dated from 1951 to Gaston Batteux: "... this moral tale more than we think Wishing he keeps longer than has been Sherban ... . "
