    First edition, first issue, illustrated with 21 original etchings by Jules Lalauze. Printed in a limited edition following 220 copies on deluxe paper. One of 20 copies on Wattman paper, no. 40. Title pages printed in red and black. A fine impression. An exceptional copy with the engravings in four states (sometimes bound further within the volume), whereas even the copies on Japan paper contain only three states, two of which are proofs on Japan paper. Volume IV is unfortunately lacking in this set. Original wrappers and spines preserved.

    First issue with three half-titles, three frontispieces, one heightened in gold, and richly illustrated with ornamental borders and in-text vignettes, together with fourteen full-page plates by Andrew Best Leloir and Levilly. Edition prepared from the 1704 text, revised and accompanied by a dissertation by Baron Silvestre de Sacy.
    Rare publisher’s bindings in red half shagreen. Spines decorated with a large gilt ornamental panel featuring an oriental dancer at its centre, surrounded by multiple motifs inspired by the East.     First printing edition, one of the rare copies on heavy vellum, which considerably increases the thickness of the volumes. Illustrated with 3 half-titles, abundantly illustrated with ornaments and in-text vignettes, as well as 14 plates by Andrew Best Leloir, Levilly. Edition produced from the 1704 text corrected with a dissertation by Baron Silvestre de Sacy. The three frontispieces of the ordinary printing were not printed on vellum, for technical or cost reasons.
