Half caramel shagreen binding, spine with five raised bands, marbled paper boards, pebbled paper endpapers and pastedowns, original wrappers preserved and lined with small restorations.

Contemporary half green shagreen. Spine with raised bands and gilt compartments. Rubbing to head and raised bands. Pale scattered foxing, irregular, sometimes not affecting the white paper at all, other times speckling the margins; overall, fairly little foxing.
Following in the tradition of the famous Diable à Paris, but with less prestigious writers, a satire of foreigners in Paris.
