Using the art of reasoning and rhetoric, this treatise on the church follows a classical approach to support its argument, which first relies on the church fathers and history for the definition of the church (by defining the church, one thereby defines heresy), then on the points criticized in the Catholic church by Protestants and Catholics, by becoming a defender rather than an attacker, the work subtly changes the stakes, politically the Catholic church thus remains "The Gentiles" called by Christ.
