    Bradel bindings in citron half morocco with corners, smooth spines slightly darkened, marbled paper boards, pebble-grained endpapers and pastedowns, covers and backstrips preserved in one piece, contemporary bindings signed Champs.
    Covers and in-text or full-page drawings by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen for the first and second volumes, by Francisque Poulbot for the third, and by Louis Borgex for the fourth and final volume.
    Each volume bears Aristide Bruant’s autograph signature...

    First edition of Aristide Bruant’s electoral manifesto, written in his signature chansonnier style, for the legislative elections of May 8, 1898, covering the Belleville–Saint-Fargeau district, the first constituency of the 20th arrondissement of Paris.

    The fourth leaf of this fragile electoral document features a hagiography of Aristide Bruant, "poet of the outcasts and the wretched," by Michel Morphy.

    The manifesto is illustrated with a drawing by Borgey.
