    Superb invitation poster-card for the 1930 edition of the Bal des Quat'Z'Arts, still bearing its stub in the lower section. Very fine color illustration by Yves Brayer and O. Rabaud depicting a menacing Aragonese knight being charmed by an oriental dancer.
    The theme of the famous fine arts students' ball, which took place on June 21 at the Porte de Versailles, was the capture of Granada by the Aragonese knights - on the invitation, one can read the following text: "Le sultan Abou-Abdillah se fait vider de Grenade par les bandes d'Aragon, ainsi que la chose s'est très véridiquement passée en 1492. Viens voir ça ma jolie, et accourt avec nous vers l'Alhambra, pour y boire...

    Strictly hors commerce edition illustrated with 64 original etchings by Yves Brayer and printed in 100 copies, all numbered on Arches wove paper, ours being one of 20 containing the suite on Japon Torinoko, and among these, one of the few copies enriched with 5 cancelled copperplate matrices.
    Our copy is exceptionally enhanced with two original watercolors by Yves Brayer which he signed: one on a sheet of 27x19.5cm mounted on cardboard and presented under mat, representing an equestrian scene; the second, a Camargue landscape, on the half-title page and dedicated in pencil by the artist to Bernard Gauche.
