Full hazel sheep binding, spine with five raised bands decorated with gilt fillets and gilt ornamental compartments with gilt floral motifs, cherry red morocco title-label and author's name, some light rubbing to headcaps and joints, gilt roulettes faded on headcaps, triple fillets and floral corner motifs on boards, gilt dotted lines on leading edges, gilt dentelle border on pastedowns, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, corners slightly bumped, top edge gilt, original wrappers preserved, elegant unsigned contemporary binding imitating those adorning 17th and 18th century works.
Small lack to head of one endleaf, some rubbing traces to binding.
