Letter autograph signed by Jean Fontenoy, written in blue ink on school paper with large squares. Calligraphic drawing "Tuesday" at the top of the letter, Paris address and telephone number of the writer in the margin of the last sheet. Several erasures and additions of the author's hand.
Fontenoy writes this letter by putting himself in the place of a schoolboy: " I write to you on school paper because I seem to have returned to school ". He submits to his addressee the last modifications that he wishes to make to the manuscript of the Dream of the Traveler but also the text of presentation of the book. The author seems preoccupied with these changes and asks his friend of the indulgence: " Pity me, help me not to doubt too much about my success. " He asks him for corrections that would help him complete his task: " you I would send this letter back, annotated and corrected, and it is, in fact, an aide-mémoire which I have ordered myself to write to you, and your observations in red ink, if you have any, will serve me well. "
