La pluie et le beau temps

First edition on ordinary paper after 25 numbered copies on Holland paper. A blank invitation card mounted on a stub for a dinner offered on the occasion of the book's publication, to be sent to Mercure de France or Revue Blanche. From MM. Paul Adam, Paul Fort, Stéphane Mallarmé, etc.
Autograph inscription signed by Gustave Kahn to his friend, Belgian painter and artist Georges Lemmen: "A mon vieil ami George Lemmen le bon imagier. Gustave Kahn." ["To my old friend George Lemmen the good imagemaker. Gustave Kahn."]
(The following year (1897), the two friends would collaborate with Brussels publisher Deman on a small editorial gem: Limbes de lumière.
Contemporary binding in half black coarse-grained shagreen, smooth Jansenist spine with raised bands, author's name, title and date gilt, fine marbled paper extended to the endpapers, original wrappers preserved (the first showing traces of rubbing).
