New "first edition", impimed 500 copies on laid Arches paper and consisting of the second edition of this text (completed June 20, 1911). This posterior edition of less than a month to the original published May 29, 1911, is considered the original of this text, because the latter was almost completely destroyed, André Gide being dissatisfied with the draw because three pages had not the regular number of lines. Nice copy blue blankets not passed as generally, rare bites without gravity. Autograph dedication signed by André Gide to Jean Croué written in Cuverville on July 3rd.
