First edition on ordinary paper.
Bradel binding in half aubergine cloth, smooth spine faded and decorated with a gilt floral motif, double gilt fillet at foot, olive shagreen title-label with some minor traces of rubbing and small lacks, marbled paper boards, upper corners slightly bumped, top edge gilt, contemporary unsigned binding but attributable to Lancelin.
Autograph inscription signed by Georges Duruy to madame Paul Ollendorff.
