Autograph inscription signed and dated by Charles De Gaulle to Claude Bénédick, former Secretary general of the Comédie Française, to first volume, manuscript signature of De Gaulle to subsequent volumes. A few light fold-marks to margins of some covers, spine slightly discolored. A good copy with a moving autograph inscription signed to a figure in the French theatre, proof of a lasting interest of the General’s, who created the first Ministry of Cultural Affairs, which he put under the care of André Malraux.
