Our copy is enriched by an autograph letter, pasted on a guard, dated May 29, 1929 and signed by Jacques Chardonne in which he asks his correspondent to intercede with Maurice Donnay he reads the copy of "Varais" that he sent her recently to support him in the imminent awarding of a literary prize.
