First editions of the 36 issues from the second semester of 1837, 10th year, bound together in one volume with continuous pagination and not containing the announced engravings.
Half sheep binding with corners, spine with four raised bands set with gilt and blind fillets and gilt dentelle, black shagreen title and volume labels. Worn binding with significant damage to the spine, corners slightly bumped.

Founded in 1825 by Charles Lautour-Mezeray and Émile de Girardin, the review appeared every five days and was interested in literature as well as sciences, fine arts, and social customs. It published mainly historical chronicles, travel and society accounts covering France or foreign countries, stories and novellas, or sections devoted to theater, fashion, court news, and miscellaneous facts, most often reprinted from other newspapers of the period.
