First edition. From 1768 onwards, this bibliography was continued by Fevier de Fondette, extending to all fields (ecclesiastical history, natural history, etc.) and no longer confined to the single area studied by Lelong.
Contemporary full brown sheepskin binding. Spine with raised bands, decorated. Extensive restorations in light brown sheepskin to the spine with tooling reapplied. "Malgré de nombreuses omissions et de graves inexactitudes, cet ouvrage est un des travaux les plus essentiels qu"ait produits la science bibliographique, et il doit se trouver dans toutes les grandes bibliothèques" (Brunet III, 958). This bibliography is above all learnedly constructed and arranged, making it particularly easy to consult, thanks in particular to several indexes. History is to be understood in its broadest sense, as evidenced by the various chapters: Civil history of the provinces and universities, Ecclesiastical history of France, Political and general history... with Historical memoirs on some modern historians of France in the Supplement, p.895.
