Publisher's full dark green morocco-grained shagreen binding, smooth spine lightly browned with gilt monogram at head and gilt date at foot, first cover illustrated with vegetal motifs and gilt caduceus, frame of gilt dentelle on the endpapers, endpapers and pastedowns of moiré-effect paper, rubbing with angular leather losses on the second cover, all edges gilt.
Work complete with 30 engravings representing the decorations of the hospital guard rooms as well as 32 sepia group photographs of interns with their names.
