Half red shagreen with corners, spine with five raised bands set with gilt fillets decorated with gilt double compartments adorned with gilt floral motifs, spine with slight superficial scratches without concern, date gilt at foot, double gilt fillets on marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, one upper corner with minor traces of rubbing, top edge gilt, original wrappers preserved, contemporary binding.
