Autograph letter signed by Gabriel Randon (aka Jehan-Rictus) to Felix, a childhood friend, written in black ink . A scratch of the author's hand. Parisian address and signature of the author at the end of the letter.
The author writes this letter to warn his addressee of his literary celebrity debut in Paris under the name of Jehan-Rictus: "I jumped into fame under the pseudonym of Jehan-Rictus" . He first uses this name in a cabaret of Montmartre, the Quat'Zarts he quotes in his letter, as a singer and knows his first success in the year of this letter with the poem "the Revenant". He describes his success to his friend whom he has not seen for a long time: "In Paris, I am getting a tremendous success" , and informs him of the upcoming publication of Soliloques du Pauvre. This success, however, remains to him tinged with bitterness because it cost him a lot: "For me, health is as fucked as they say, and if I reach as I hope fortune and happiness I do not believe that I 'enjoy it a long time.', 'Fifteen or eighteen years of misery will be rewarded' . The heart of the poet nevertheless survives his evils: "On the other hand, the soul is always ardent, in love and alive ".
