Dear Friend, Unfortunately, "The Spetsai Balcony" has not been translated into German or Greek. In Greek, I do not care so much. Let us remain unknown among the Greeks, it is the surest way not to flatter them, not to imitate them. The slightest reserve triggers their wrath. As for my German publisher, he is too busy following my fictional production to come back to a book published a quarter of a century ago, even though this book has an astonishing longevity. Thank you for thinking of autograph dedication of the author me the new scripture number. I will find it when I return to Ireland. Great idea to devote it to criticism. Much of it has gone into the hands of academics who do not like literature and depote it for their own benefit. In France, a book gives rise to three or four interesting articles. The rest is worthless. The Swiss and Belgian critics are very [more] serious. They read ! When I went to Paris, I sent you "Bagages pour Vancouver" to which your magazine had been so welcome. Sincerely, Michel Déon
