First edition of this religious pastiche composed by Jesuit missionaries in India. Printed on the presses of Fortuné-Barthélemy de Felice at Yverdon, it was published by Baron de Sainte-Croix. Later binding (circa 1840) in full blonde calf. Spine with five raised bands decorated with gilt compartments and fillets, as well as long-grain brown morocco title and volume labels. Triple gilt fillets framing the turn-ins. Quadruple fillets and gilt floral cornerpieces framing the marbled paper pastedowns. All edges gilt. Handsome copy in attractive binding by Niédrée, whose name is inscribed in pen on the first endpaper of the first volume.
