A famous and important work in the history of thought, often called "The Logic of Port-Royal", this represents the logical approach according to Jansenism, a Cartesian and Pascalian approach to reason, associating reason with mathematical reasoning viewed as an ideal of thought. The author was a great intellectual figure of the 17th century, not only as a controversialist, but also as a philosopher and scholar; he collaborated with Pierre Nicole, another renowned Jansenist, in writing this work.
