First collected edition. The various parts composing this collection were first published separately from 1780 to 1786. The volume numbering is placed on the half-title. The thirteenth part which completes the collection is absent from this set, the second part of the life of Tourville being missing. 11 portraits at frontispiece. The life of Ruiter is divided into 2 volumes and is found in the second part of the fifth volume and in the first part of the sixth volume. The edition is composed of certain volumes from the first editions to which a half-title has been added. Contemporary full brown sheep binding. Smooth spine decorated with fillets. Red sheep title label, black sheep volume label. Head of first volume worn down, head of second volume partly torn away. Head of volume 5 partly worn. Tail of volume 4 with loss.
