Louis des Balbes Crillon was a famous captain who served successfully under several kings, including Henri IV, who called him 'The foremost captain in the world'. History remembered his valor and probity, notably during the assassination of the Duke of Guise and during the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre. He was from Provence and gave his name to a village that is famous today: Crillon le Brave.
