First edition illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Tsar Peter the Great.
Contemporary full blonde calf binding, smooth spine decorated with gilt compartments and fleurons as well as a red morocco title label, triple gilt fillets and gilt fleurons in corners framing the boards, gilt fillet highlighting the edges and headcaps, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, all edges red. Two corners slightly bumped, headcap missing, upper joint of front board split for one centimeter.
