The first 64 plates feature decorative friezes and motifs characteristic of the Empire style—Neoclassical elements and the so-called “Retour d’Égypte,” adorned with laurel and oak wreaths, imperial eagles, etc. The final 7 leaves display interior arrangements in the style of the period.

Enclosed: the price list for the models offered by the manufactory of Joseph Beunat, recipient of a silver medal for patented inventions.

Contemporary temporary binding in marbled blue paper boards, flat spine with scuffs and small paper losses, red morocco title label, lower corners...

Unpublished French manuscript translation of the Giurisprudenza marittima-commerciale antica e moderna, Luigi Piantanida's monumental four-volume treatise on maritime and commercial law, published in Milan between 1806 and 1808 and dedicated to Napoleon. The translation was prepared by a certain J. Brunet, whose identity has not been established. Folio (25.5 × 39.3 cm), 680 unnumbered manuscript pages.

New edition printed in 250 copies at the government's expense, intended to provide work for typographic workers (cf. Sabin 11841. Leclerc 697).

A remarkable record of one of the most significant instances of international opinion manipulation carried out by China and North Korea in the early stages of the Korean War: as early as 1952, North Korean and Chinese officials (including Zhou Enlai) accused the American army of using "insect vectors" on a large scale to spread various diseases among the populations of Korea and Manchuria (plague, cholera, etc.).

The entire operation had been meticulously staged, as definitively revealed by Soviet documents...
